Good evening!

We had another busy week in Kindergarten. We continued looking at the Zones of Regulation. We watched Bob’s Blue Period by Marion Deuchars. We brainstormed things that make us feel sad.

We also watched When Miles Got Mad by Sam Kurtzman-Counter. This book helped us learn an important strategy we can use when we are frustrated or mad - talking it out! We also brainstormed things that make us mad.

Then, students drew pictures to represent the Blue and Red Zone.

We also learned about the Letter H. This is the beginning of our "Starting Corner Capitals". These capitals help us learn about the left-to-right formation of printing and reading. In English, we always go top to bottom, and left to right.

Next week, we will be learning about:
  • Letter K
  • Letter L
  • Creating and repeating patterns (AB, ABC, ABCD, AAB, AABB)
  • Life Cycle of a Pumpkin - a natural pattern that occurs every fall!
  • Police Officers in the Community - We will be having a Police Officer come into the classroom this week to visit us and tell us how police help us in the community!
Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm!
