Learning Update!

Happy Fantastic Friday Everyone!

We have been learning a lot this week! 

First things first - have you signed up for Parent/Teacher Conferences yet? I can't WAIT to meet all of the kindergarten families! 

We learned a song to remind us where to start our letters (AT THE TOP!). Here is a link to a video if you are interested in listening to the song at home and singing together.

We also learned how to write the capital letters, F and E.

Each student received their own individual whiteboard and whiteboard marker. They have become masters at practicing their F's and E's during morning table work. We also listen to relaxing music while we do this to help students self-regulate before we begin our day!

Students listened to a story about an elephant going to school. They were tasked with brainstorming ways we could get to school. The four most common ways we came up with were: car, bus, bike, or walking! 

Each student drew a photo of the way they get to school. Then, we created a chart to show how many students take the bus, how many students ride in a car, how many students walk to school, and how many students bike to school. 

THEN! Students counted how many people fell into each category. We used blocks to represent the amount of students in each group!

Reminders for Next Week:

1. There is NO school on Thursday September 24 or Friday September 25 due to Parent/Teacher Conferences

2. Please check your email for two separate emails that include your child's CBE email address and password. Log into Google Classroom and "Join" our online classroom. 
3. Sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences

Ask Your Child:
1. What are the two letters they learned this week? What sound do they make? Can they remember any words that start with the letter F or E? 
2. How did they choose to represent how they get to school? 
3. What are the three parts of a tree we learned about this week? (trunk, branches, leaves) 

Important Upcoming Dates:
Friday October 1st is PAJAMA DAY! Wear your pajamas to school. Please leave stuffies/toys at home.
